The area for displays is 66m x 105m, which is approximately 7.000 sqm. Ullevaal stadium is covered with grass and there are four different entrances to the arena. The area for displays is not covered by the roof.

The lining-up places for the participants will be directly outside of the arena. There are two potential spaces where the lining up will take place; one is on an open grass field 300m away from the stadium and the other one is a football field / bandy stadium 50m outside of the arena. If necessary we will also have one more football field available close to Ullevaal Stadium. This arena is approximately 500m away from Ullevaal Stadium.

For the closing ceremony the venue will be outfitted with ground markers at 2 metres intervals.

Security

We know that the opening and the closing ceremony will require extra effort when it comes to security. We have already started the cooperation with the administration at Ullevaal Stadium regarding this issue. Ullevaal Stadium is the home arena for the Norwegian National football team, and the arena is acknowledged according to the regulations from UEFA as an arena for Champions League matches. We are also working together with the Norwegian Police Directorate to ensure the safety of all the participants.

Transportation to and from the ceremony

Ullevaal Stadium is situated close to one of the main circular roads around Oslo. There is also a subway station in connection with the Stadium. We plan to use both busses and the subway to transport all the participants to and from the ceremonies. We have already discussed different solutions with the regional authorities and the bus companies and railway companies.

We are also seeking to arrange for special transport for disabled participants, and the arena is easily accessible by wheelchair. See also the paragraph about Participants with disabilities.

Activities during the gathering of participants

The gathering of participants will take some time, and we will arrange for suitable activities during this period. This will be possible on all of the spaces where the lining up may take place.
